The Government of the Republic of Serbia has declared 2020 to be the year of solidarity and cooperation, at the initiative of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs. Its importance is reflected in the impact on raising awareness on the significance of continuous engagement in promoting solidarity and cooperation as a form of support among all social actors.
Also, the importance of launching this initiative is reflected in the improvement of cooperation between state authorities, professional, humanitarian and professional organizations and associations in order to improve life in all segments, as well as proposing the improvement and direction of international cooperation.
During, as well as after lifting the state of emergency, without adequate and organized solidarity and cooperation at all levels in society, it would not be possible to prevent or eliminate severe consequences that could occur to the life and health of the population, especially vulnerable groups, said Minister Zoran Đorđević.
This decision encourages and includes all relevant factors to strengthen social cohesion at all levels as well as solidarity and cooperation, all with the aim of creating better opportunities for all, devising innovative solutions and raising the quality of life of the population.
Cooperation and solidarity are of key importance in achieving effective mutual support and cooperation between different social groups, citizens of different ages, socio-economic characteristics, different departments, public and private sector, as well as in the development of society, economy and public life.
