All employers who want to join the dual education system (vocational education) programme in the school year 2021/2022 can do so until January 31. Employers can do that by submitting an online application and a Statement of readiness for inclusion and an application for accreditation through the web portal of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) on which registration is required.
Also, in the school year 2021/2022, and at the initiative of the business economy sector, new educational profiles are being introduced, such as a technician for designing furniture and interiors, a shoemaker, a trade technician, a carpenter and a printing technician.
Among the top priorities of the Serbian economy is the need for quality educated professional staff, because that is the way to embrace the sustainability of a business process. Dual education is a good step towards this goal and serves this priority, given that this model implies that students directly from the industry participate in their work while acquiring entrepreneurial skills, whilst employers have much lower training costs when hiring.
This is the reason why reform of the education system and promotion of the business environment is high on the agenda of the Serbian Association of Employers, and the reason for our participation in creating a dual education model, exclusively according to the needs of the economy. Also, this part of the system of secondary education and upbringing has come to life since the 2013/2014 school years.
